- After a successful Amateur golf career playing out of Aboyne Golf Course and representing the North East District Keil turned professional in 2005.
- In 2008, Keil graduated from Birmingham University with a degree in Professional Golf specialising in Coaching.
- Since graduating Keil has been continually working on improving his coaching skills.
